Meet the Team: Liz Nettles

Liz Nettles on the podium

It’s “Meet the Team” time again! This time we’re introducing Liz Nettles, a Cat 2 road racer who loves to compete. Liz has just been with us for a year, but she also raced for Recycled Cycles Racing 9 years ago as a Cat 4.  We’re excited to hear she’ll be participating in the BikeMS ride this fall, since Recycled Cycles will be providing mechanical support! Don’t forget to check out the Recycled Cycles Racing blog and Facebook page for all the team’s latest news.

Name: Liz Nettles

Age: my daughter is 2:)

Day job: Real Estate Agent

Bikes: Raleigh Militis (road race bike); Cannondale (rain bike); Teimeyer (pink track bike!); Blue (Time Trial bike)

Years racing: on and off 9 years

Years racing w/RCR: 1

Type of racing: Road (Cat. 2) and some track & cross (hopefully)

Favorite race: oddly not one comes to mind…anything epic with major hills and suffering (seriously)

Favorite local ride: Snohomish with the RCR girls- we always have a great time…even in the cold & rain. We stop at the Snohomish Bakery for the best cookies ever made.

Pre-race/ride fuel: Steel cut oatmeal with bananas or blueberries

Post-race/ride indulgence: Smoothie and cookie(S)

Why you started racing: I love to compete

Ever get pre-event nerves? How do you deal? Yes, sometimes, but I like a little nerves before a race.

How many hours do you log each week? 7 on a good week

Dream route – if you could pack up your bike and hit the road, where would we find you?

I would love to ride North toward Bellingham and Chuckanut Road. I look forward to doing the MS ride this September which uses those roads.
